About Streetcar Collective for the Arts

Mission

Our mission is to bring one-of-a-kind, revolutionary theatrical productions to New Orleans stages while offering professional opportunities to New Orleans theatermakers that help make the New Orleans theatrical community a place where theatermakers can thrive.

In practice, this means:

  • prioritizing scripts written by New Orleanian or Louisiana-based playwrights, followed by plays set in New Orleans or Lousiana;

  • paying our cast and crew fairly for the work they do with us;

  • committing to equitable and anti-racist casting processes;

  • creating professional-level productions offered at reasonable ticket prices so theater can be accessible to New Orleanians of all income levels;

  • and creating professional opportunities for theatermakers that will ultimately provide them the experience they need to advance their careers.

Our history.

Founded in 2022, Streetcar Collective for the Arts has produced a series of productions in New Orleans that have supported and provided professional opportunities for dozens of New Orleans theatermakers. Our 2024-2025 season was our first full season – and we’re already gearing up for our 2025-2026 season. Want to be a part of the magic? We’re always looking for volunteers and new collaborators. Get in touch with us by emailing info@streetcarcollective.org!

Here's what we're doing today.

We have two more productions in our 2024-2025 season: New Works; Old Shakespeare and Love, Loss, and Liberation. Tickets are now on sale for New Works; Old Shakespeare: you can purchase them here.

We’re also starting to lay the groundwork for the future  – which means we’re seeking corporate sponsors for our 2025-2026 season! Corporate sponsors have the opportunity to be featured on Streetcar Collective for the Arts promotional materials, to buy ad space in our performance programs, and – most importantly! – to support original theater being performed on New Orleans stages. Streetcar Collective for the Arts is a federally recognized 501(c)(3) and all donations are tax-deductible. You can learn more here.
